An actor who played an iconic character on one of the “Star Trek” franchise’s TV series will appear in a substantial guest arc on a Syfy drama, TV Guide reports.

Brent Spiner, best known for playing the android Data on "Star Trek: The Next Generation," will have a multiple-episode arc on "Warehouse 13." The show returns with its season four premiere July 23.

Spiner will be on six episodes as Brother Adrian, the leader of the Brotherhood of the Knights of the Black Diamond, a top-secret group with questionable motives.

According to "Warehouse 13" executive producer Jack Kenny, "Artie (Saul Rubinek) and the gang are on a mission to pull their lives back together and Brother Adrian is a major obstacle to that. The Brotherhood is descended from the Knights Templar and connected to the Vatican. It is charged with the protection of many powerful artifacts, one of which Artie desperately needs to make everything right again."

Spiner and Rubinek tangled once before on camera, in an episode of "Next Generation." The two actors set off sparks once again, says Kenny. "It’s been a blast watching these two great actors go at each other,” he said. “Our fans are in for one wild ride."
