ABC rode its “Bachelorette” finale and “After the Final Rose” post-mortem to a huge win against soft competition in Sunday night’s Nielsen overnights, TVbytheNumbers.com reports.

The two-hour “Bachelorette” closer at 8 p.m. scored a 3.0 average rating in the key 18-49 demo, up 7% from last year’s finale. “The Bachelorette: After the Final Rose,” airing at 10 p.m., did even better, delivering a 3.2, up 14% from a year ago.

ABC coasted home to an easy win for prime time, averaging 2.6 in 18-49 to crush CBS (1.2 average), Fox (1.0), Univision (1.0) and NBC (0.9). ABC also came out on top in total viewers, averaging 7.9 million to top CBS (5.2 million), NBC (3.6 million), Fox (2.7 million) and Univision (2.7 million).

CBS broke out only one fresh program, “Big Brother,” which fell off 17% from a week ago, settling for a 1.9 in the 18-49 demo.

Fox had the “Teen Choice Awards,” which matched last year’s results with a 1.1 in 18-49.

NBC’s two-hour “Dateline” at 7 p.m. improved 25% on last week’s performance with a 1.0 in the 18-49 demo.
