Comic actor Fred Willard was arrested Wednesday night in a Hollywood adult movie theater, according to a report by TMZ.com.
“According to law enforcement sources, LAPD undercover vice officers went into the Tiki Theater in Hollywood and found the 78-year-old ‘Anchorman’ star watching last night’s feature" with his genitals allegedly exposed, the story reports.
Willard was reportedly booked on suspicion of lewd conduct, and was quickly released from police custody.
Officials told the website the vice officers were doing a “random walk-through” at the theater.
“We’re told … when theaters like this get their license, they have to allow cops in whenever they want … to inspect,” the report notes. “In fact, the theater has a sign posted in the front which warns customers that the theater is ‘viewed by LAPD.’"
Willard is known for his roles in a series of mockumentaries, including “Best in Show,” “Waiting for Guffman” and “For Your Consideration.” He also has a long list of TV credits, including “Modern Family” and “Everybody Loves Raymond.”
