Former Sitcom Star Kirk Cameron Ramps Up His Campaign Against Same-Sex Marriage — Here’s the Video

A former sitcom star is warning Americans in a new video clip about the dangers of same-sex marriage, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Former "Growing Pains" star Kirk Cameron, who has been vocal in the past about his opposition to same-sex marriage, is featured in what the story describes as a religious infomercial.

"If we want a great future in this world, we have to take God at his word, and God makes it really clear that society and civilization is really held together by the glue of families," Cameron says in the video. "And so when a man and a woman come together and they say I do, they are committing for a lifetime to love each other and to model what love is."

Cameron is introduced in the clip by a fan of "Growing Pains," and is turning his thoughts on relationships into a traveling seminar that draws on relationship advice found in Cameron’s film “Fireproof,” the story adds. It’s part of his partnership with the National Organization for Marriage and its spinoff group the Marriage Anti-Defamation Alliance.

The actor has previously called same-sex weddings "unnatural" and "destructive," the piece notes.

  1. …and not a single f@(

  2. Bravo, Kirk!

  3. bleh…

  4. Bravo, Kirk.
You may disagree with him, but he is sticking by his faith, and I respect him for that.

  5. As an aside, how is this “ramping up” his campaign?
Kirk has had these same beliefs for decades; he just isn’t afraid to express them.

  6. And why should we care what this sitcom has-been thinks? I guess this is one way to get some attention….

  7. I seem to remember at old, little utilized (these days, at any rate) Christian adage, “Judge not, least you be judged”.
With that in mind, here’s little something else (straight from the Bible also) that a lot of “Christians” might want to take to heart… or give some thought to.
Everyone’s name is written in the Book of Judgement. Just because you’ve accepted Christ doesn’t mean you get a “free pass” as it were. All will be judged when the day comes.

  8. I agree with John – whatever a gay couple wants to do to formalize their relationship is between them and God. It’s not my place to judge. God will take care of it in the end.

  9. Methinks he doth protest too much. Have something you want to come clean about Kirk?

  10. There is a difference between judging someone and stating a fact. As Christians, we are called to love everyone. However, we are also called to tell people the good news that Jesus Christ died for their sins. If we accept his gift of salvation, then we should try not to sin any longer. The bible calls same sex marriage a sin. It is difficult to accept Jesus and continue to live in sin as the bible describes this type of relationship. Our country was founded on those beliefs, so accepting same sex marriage goes against the principals our country was founded on.

  11. Dan, Dan, Dan.
The Bible does not call same sex marriage a sin. Show me where it does that. Jesus never mentions homosexuality, not once.
I don’t care that Jesus (or anyone else) died for my sins. My sins are my responsibility. Mine and mine alone.
The United States was not founded on the Christian religion. Show me where Jesus, Christianity or, indeed, any reference to any religion was made in the Constitution–which is the law of the land.
People, by and large, do not live according the the Bible. Which, by the way, is a work of fiction, written by shepherds 1300 years ago.
You have issues, serious ones. Take them up with your Confessor and leave everyone else alone.

  12. Kirk Cameron being brainwashed was his own chosing. But that doesn’t mean others should follow.
