Me-TV Network Adds Hearst Stations, Extends Clearance to 82% of Country

Weigel Broadcasting Co. and Hearst Television today announced an affiliation agreement that adds five Hearst markets to the Me-TV Network’s list of local station affiliates.

Joining Me-TV will be WCVB-TV, Boston; KCRA-TV, Sacramento; WBAL-TV, Baltimore; KOCO-TV, Oklahoma City; and WXII-TV, Greensboro. The deal brings Me-TV’s total number of Hearst station affiliates to 13.

Hearst also extended its existing Me-TV affiliate agreements to 2015.

The Me-TV Network now clears more than 82% of the country, with more than 128 affiliates.

Me-TV, “memorable entertainment television,” launched nationally in December 2010. The network is owned and operated by Weigel Broadcasting Co. and distributed by MGM Television.

Neal Sabin, President of Content and Networks for Weigel Broadcasting Co., said in a statement: "The Hearst television stations are terrific affiliate partners, providing cable distribution, terrific promotion and outstanding ratings achievement for the Me-TV Network. Adding five top stations in top 50 markets deepens an already successful partnership.”

The company’s announcement noted: “Me-TV features a wide range of programming which audiences and advertisers find comfortable and engaging. Me-TV’s library includes almost 100 series from Twentieth Century Fox Television Distribution, CBS Television Distribution, NBCUniversal Television as well as many independent series owners and producers. Me-TV’s lineup includes some of the most beloved television programs ever produced, including: ‘M*A*S*H,’ ‘The Brady Bunch,’ ‘Green Acres,’ ‘The Beverly Hillbillies,’ ‘Perry Mason,’ ‘The Mary Tyler Moore Show,’ ‘The Dick Van Dyke Show,’ ‘Gunsmoke,’ ‘That Girl,’ ‘I Love Lucy’ and ‘Hawaii Five-0.’”
