Rush Limbaugh Accuses Latest Batman Movie of Anti-Romney Brainwashing

Conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh indicated on his show Tuesday that the producers of Warner Bros.’ latest Batman movie, “The Dark Knight Rises,” are secretly trying to brainwash film goers, Deadline.com reports.

Limbaugh’s main problem with the movie appears to be the name of the villain, Bane. Limbaugh implies it’s not accidental that the villain has a similar name to Bain Capital, a company Romney has been involved with that has come up as an issue in the presidential election.

Even though Batman comics introduced the Bane character in 1993, Limbaugh insinuates that the appearance of the character now is intentional.

The report quotes Limbaugh saying that “a lot of brain-dead people, entertainment, the pop culture crowd [are] gonna hear Bane in the movie and they’re gonna associate Bain. The thought is that when they start paying attention to the campaign later in the year, and Obama and the Democrats keep talking about Bain … Romney and Bain, that these people will think back to the Batman movie. … There are some people who think it’ll work. Others think you’re really underestimating the American people to think that will work.”

Limbaugh also says: “You may think it’s ridiculous, I’m just telling you this is the kind of stuff the Obama team is lining up. The kind of people who would draw this comparison are the kind of people that they are campaigning to. These are the kind of people that they are attempting to appeal to.”

The Bane character also appeared in the 1997 movie “Batman & Robin,” played by Robert Swenson, the story notes.

  1. One again, Rush refuses to allow the truth and facts to interfere with a good rant.
Here’s another fact Rush will ignore: Bain Capital is one of the major players behind Clear Channel, many of whose stations carry Rush.

  2. I believe you ever so slightly mispoke. Never let the facts get in the way of an oversized paycheck.
