VH1 has given a series order to its second scripted comedy, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The cable network ordered “Bounce,” which stars Dean Cain, Kimberly Elise and Charlotte Ross.

The network announced the order today for the series, which focuses on a fictional dance team, the Los Angeles Devil Girls, in the world of pro basketball.

“Written and created by James LaRosa, the series follows the lives of the dancers, the woman who runs the dance squad, the players and the team’s coach and players,” the story reports.

“Bounce” is set to start production early in 2013. The series is executive produced by Maggie Malina and LaRosa, with Sanaa Hamri directing the pilot.

The order follows VH1’s order for “Single Ladies,’ also executive produced by Malina.

Jeff Olde, executive VP of original programming and production for VH1, said: "[‘Bounce’] has all the elements we know VH1 viewers love — a world very much on the pop culture radar, an incredible cast and compelling, addictive storytelling. These are all set against a glamorous backdrop where amazing dance numbers organically break out as part of the story. We wanted to create a scripted series at VH1 in which music is a strong narrative force, and we have found that with ‘Bounce.’"
