ABC has bought a comedy from "Friends" producer Greg Malins, Sony Pictures TV and Jamie Tarses’ Fanfare, reports Deadline.com.

The project, “Tribes,” went to ABC in a competitive situation, and received a script commitment plus penalty, the piece notes.

It’s based on an Israeli series called "Your Family or Mine?" The Israeli show is from Keshet, the media company whose "Prisoners of War" was adapted as Showtime’s "Homeland."

"Tribes" is a family comedy with each episode focusing on a different side of a couple’s family.
