ABC has bought a semi-autobiographical comedy from one of the stars of the network’s hit sitcom "Modern Family." The Hollywood Reporter’s Live Feed reports that the network ordered the project from Ty Burrell, who plays Phil Dunphy on “Modern Family.”

Burrell’s project is based on his childhood in Oregon, where he grew up with his younger brother Duncan Burrell. The project will track two city families who buy a small rural town’s only store.

The Burrell brothers will co-write and co-executive produce the untitled comedy, which is from 20th Television and has a script plus penalty order from ABC.
