In what Deadline.com calls a "a rare case of a pitch garnering interest from broadcast, basic cable and pay cable networks," the mystery project "The Return of Daniel Shepherd" has landed at HBO.

The project is from writer David Hubbard of "Noel," and tracks the return of a son who went missing 13 years earlier. He becomes the prime suspect when his abductors are murdered, the story notes. The project is from Sony TV and One-Two Punch Productions.

Hubbard’s CBS drama script "Widow Detective" went to pilot last year.
