The Lifetime/History miniseries project "Bonnie & Clyde" is talking with a former Disney Channel star about portraying Bonnie Parker, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Directors of the project, produced by Neil Meron and Craig Zadan of "Smash," are reportedly meeting with Miley Cyrus about the role, the story says.

The project is part of A&E Networks President of Entertainment and Media Nancy Dubuc’s effort to air established titles featuring well-known actors, such as Kevin Costner’s Emmy-winning role in "Hatfields & McCoys," the piece notes. That miniseries was a ratings blockbuster for History.

  1. If they want this to be another blockbuster hit, they best find somebody other than Miley to play Bonnie.
