CBS is tapping into an overseas format to come up with a new reality show, EW.com’s Inside TV reports. The network will remake the U.K. competition show "The Great British Bake Off" for U.S. audiences.
With the working title "Bake Off," the show is expected to debut in 2013. It will feature amateur bakers as they compete in challenges to win the title, the story notes. Richard McKerrow, who executive produced "The Great British Bake Off," will executive produce the U.S. version.
The British version of the show aired its season three finale Tuesday on BBC2, the report notes. It delivered the show’s biggest audience to date: 6.5 million viewers.
