"CBS Evening News" anchor Scott Pelley was evacuated from his live location in New Jersey just before the location was wrecked by Hurricane Sandy, reports TVNewser.com.

Pelley was anchoring from the deck of an Allenhurst, N.J. restaurant called Mr. C’s Beach Bistro when the police chief told him and his crew they needed to leave.

Soon after, the Bistro was washed into the Atlantic, the story notes. Pelley ended up broadcasting CBS’s 10 p.m. special from the Allenhurst Fire Department.
