The director of "Kony 2012" — one of the most successful viral videos of all time — has scheduled a TV interview to talk for the first time about his breakdown in March that led to an embarrassing public incident, according to The Hollywood Reporter’s Live Feed.
In that widely reported incident, sometimes described as a “naked meltdown,” Jason Russell appeared naked on a sidewalk and allegedly masturbated in public. He will discuss it in an interview on "Oprah’s Next Chapter," the story reports.
Russell was arrested March 15 in San Diego, and has kept silent since then, the story notes. His family said that his breakdown wasn’t related to drugs or alcohol, but instead was due to the sudden fame he experienced after "Kony 2012" became a media phenomenon.
Russell’s interview will air Oct. 7 on OWN.
