Live NFL coverage pushed NBC to another easy win in the Nielsen overnights for Sunday — including easily topping live coverage of the MLB playoffs on Fox.

TVbytheNumbers.com reports that NBC averaged a 5.6 rating for prime time in the key 18-49 demo, easily outdistancing its rivals. Fox trailed with a 2.7 average, followed by CBS (2.2) and ABC (2.1). NBC also won total viewers, averaging 14.7 million to 10.4 million for CBS, 8.1 million for Fox and 7.0 million for ABC.

The numbers are subject to more than the usual adjustments due to the proliferation of live programming.

NBC’s “Sunday Night Football,” featuring the Packers at the Texans, delivered a 6.9 average in 18-49. Fox’s coverage of Game 1 of the NLDS between the Cardinals and Giants averaged a 1.9.

In non-sports programming, ABC’s “Once Upon a Time” was the top show of the night with a 3.0 in viewers 18-49, down from a 3.4 a week ago. ABC’s “Revenge” delivered a 2.7, up 4% from last week. “666 Park Avenue” drooped to a 1.5, down from a 1.7 one week earlier.

CBS’s “The Amazing Race” held steady with last week with a 2.6 average in the 18-49 demo.
