Jennifer Lopez Pilot Comes Under Attack

A Jennifer Lopez pilot for ABC Family has come under attack from an activist group that has been outspoken about television content. The conservative group One Million Moms, which recently targeted NBC’s comedy "The New Normal," has now set its sights on “The Fosters,” according to The Hollywood Reporter’s Live Feed.

The ABC Family project tracks a lesbian couple raising a family, according to the piece. ABC Family ordered the pilot in August, with Teri Polo of "The West Wing" and Sherri Saum of "Rescue Me" starring as a gay couple who are parenting a biological child and several adopted children.

One Million Moms lashed out at the network Monday, claiming that the Disney-owned cable outlet is "anything but family friendly."

"While foster care and adoption is a wonderful thing and the Bible does teach us to help orphans, this program is attempting to redefine marriage and family by having two moms raise these children together," the group wrote on its website.

The group added: "One Million Moms is not sure how the explanation will be given on how the biological children were conceived. None of this material is acceptable content for a family show.”

ABC Family declined comment, the story reports.
