After casting “Private Practice” star Agnes Bruckner in the title role of “The Anna Nicole Story,” as we reported yesterday, Lifetime continues to flesh out the cast and crew. Deadline.com reports that the project has added “Mission: Impossible” veteran Martin Landau.

Landau has racked up a string of awards during his long career, including winning an Oscar for “Ed Wood” in 1995 — along with nominations for “Crimes and Misdemeanors” and “Tucker: The Man and His Dream.” He has been nominated for six Emmys and has won three Golden Globes — including one for “Mission: Impossible” in 1968.

“Landau will play oil tycoon J. Howard Marshall, who married then-stripper Smith when he was 89 and she was 26. He died a year later, and Smith spent the following decade in a legal battle with Marshall’s sons over his estate,” the story reports.

Virginia Madsen, an Oscar nominee for the 2004 movie “Sideways,” also joins the cast of “Anna Nicole,” while Mary Harron, who directed “American Psycho,” has been named to helm the project. Madsen will play Anna Nicole Smith’s mom.

Craig Zadan, Neil Meron and Judith Verno are executive producing.
