MTV will air a live 30-minute special Oct. 26 with President Barack Obama, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Obama will take questions from the audience, with viewers also submitting questions through MTV’s Facebook page, the story notes.
"The move is an obvious attempt to secure the college vote, with 45 million 18-to-29-year-olds eligible to vote in this election, according to a release, making them the largest potential voting bloc in the country," the piece says.
MTV has also asked Republican hopeful Mitt Romney to sit down in a separate 30-minute special, but an agreement hasn’t yet officially been announced, the story adds. Romney declined to participate in Nickelodeon’s "Kids Pick the President" special Oct. 15, while Obama did appear on that program.
