Producers of the NBC show “Fashion Star,” which had production halted by a work stoppage and has been picketed by IATSE, has requested a meeting with the union today to talk about a contract, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Production on the reality program’s second season was stopped after a walkout Saturday, as previously reported. Picketing continued this morning, with pension and health benefits at the center of the dispute.

“The IA will continue to picket the shooting locations of Fashion Star until the crew has a union contract,” said union organizer Vanessa Holtgrew.

“Picketing was planned to take place at three locations: Hollywood Center Studios, a production location, and the offices of one of the production companies, Magical Elves,” THR reports.

An estimated 70 crew members picketed the show Saturday, according to the union.

The report notes: “The decline of motion picture and TV drama production in Los Angeles has left reality and half-hour comedy as key factors in the local business. IATSE has been active in organizing reality, and Holtgrew and IATSE official Mike Miller said to expect more job actions in the next few months.”
