With all the attention on new syndicated talk shows, one returning program has quietly surged in the ratings, showing the most growth among daytime network programs, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

That show is CBS’s "The Talk," which is currently drawing an average viewership of 2.294 million this season, up 17% from the same time last year.

Meanwhile, its biggest competitor, "The View," is the only network talk show with a decrease from last year, declining 9%. "The View" still dominates the segment, however, with 3.398 million viewers.

Among women 25-54, "The Talk" has gained 11% from last season; the show is even with women 18 to 49. "The View," meanwhile, is down 19% in women 25-54, and down 9% in women 18-49, the piece adds.
