President Barack Obama has been asked by NBC to stop using footage from the network in a new reelection ad, reports Politico.com.

NBC sent a letter on Friday to ask the campaign to stop using the footage, which shows Andrea Mitchell citing an independent analysis that shows Mitt Romney’s tax plan would cost $4.8 trillion over a decade, the story says.

"NBC News has not granted any campaign permission to use our news material. As is our practice, we have requested that the Obama campaign refrain from using NBC News material in this and future advertisements,” NBC said in a statement.

The Obama campaign didn’t respond to a request for comment, the piece adds.

  1. I wonder why NBC did this. Everyone knows they are a part of the Obama campaign.

  2. Isn’t the reason that the author of the study has said that the Obama campaign and Andrea Mitchell are misquoting the information and in fact Romney was accurate in saying that his plan would not have the $4.8 trillion price tag? The professor that wrote the article has made it known that the article actually verified what Romney said.

  3. So now NBC and Sesame Street have asked Obama’s Campaign people to stop using them as implied endorsers. How many more people are going to start distancing themselves from Obama as results from the debate become clearer. Obama needs to get his act together for the next debate and reestablish himself as the frontrunner.
