ABC has bought a comedy about a couple from two different generations — Gen X and Gen Y — from an Academy Award-winning writer, reports EW.com’s Inside TV.

Diablo Cody, who won the Oscar for writing "Juno"  — and created the TV series "The United States of Tara" — has a new project, "Alex + Amy."  It’s about a 22-year-old Millennial man falling in love with a 32-year-old Generation X woman.

ABC has bought a pilot script for the project, which is produced by Warner Bros. TV and Amblin Entertainment. The deal includes a penalty if a pilot isn’t taped.
