The CBS Sports Network acquired the rights to the Arena Football League as part of a two-year agreement, with the league’s championship game to air on the CBS broadcast network, reports B&C.

CBS Sports Network reaches 99 million households. It will broadcast 19 regular-season AFL games throughout the 2013 season, and two playoff games. Last season the AFL aired on the NFL Network.

The Saturday night game of the week will be televised on CBS Sports Network in prime time, with the first telecast set for March 23, 2013. At the end of the season, the league’s ArenaBowl XXVI championship game will be broadcast on CBS on Aug. 17.

In a statement, Dan Weinberg, senior vice president of programming for CBS Sports Network, said, "We’re excited to partner with the AFL and bring this fast-paced, high-energy style of football to viewers. The AFL has an established fan base and adds to our already robust lineup of football programming."
