Macy’s isn’t showing any signs of dumping Donald Trump, despite a petition with almost 558,000 signatures that urges the department store to end its partnership with the “Celebrity Apprentice” host, reports Advertising Age.
Macy’s has featured Trump in its television ads and carries Trump-branded men’s clothing and a Trump fragrance collection called “Success.” As previously reported, the retailer’s new campaign features Trump in a spot called “Another Miracle on 34th Street.”
Anti-Trump sentiment grew especially strong during the recent election cycle, with Trump making a series of statements lashing out at President Obama. Macy’s says its marketing and merchandise don’t represent any political position.
The petition at SignOn.org singles out Trump for allegedly denying climate change and being sexist, the story adds.
