Underscoring the stereotype that rock stars aren’t exactly morning people, a live appearance on NBC’s “Today” show by the group Aerosmith turned into a problem for the network when lead singer Steven Tyler dropped the F-bomb, the Los Angeles Times reports.

The slip occurred during a weather report by Al Roker, the piece notes. As Tyler and the other band members were warming up the crowd from the stage, they apparently weren’t aware that their banter was being picked up by a live audio feed.

The band was on the show to perform live outside Rockefeller Center in support of its new album, “Music From Another Dimension.”

Tyler told the crowd, "Hey, thanks for coming out, you crazy …," according to the report.

“After a moment, Roker responded, ‘What did he just say?’ He then finished up the forecast and said to the camera, ‘That’s why they haven’t done mornings,’” the piece reports.

The incident comes on the heels of one two weeks ago in which actor Tom Hanks dropped an F-bomb of his own on live morning TV — on “Today” rival “Good Morning America” — as previously reported.
