Barbara Walters said she was "disappointed" that Lindsay Lohan canceled an interview she had scheduled with Walters and then booked time with Jay Leno a few days later, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Walters talked about the canceled “20/20” interview on her ABC talk show “The View.”
When co-host Whoopi Goldberg implied that Walters is a tougher interviewer than Leno, Walters said, "I couldn’t agree with you more. … If they’d said to me, ‘You know, Barbara, she isn’t up to the kinds of questions that you might ask’ — although most of them were comparing her life to Elizabeth Taylor: both child stars, both aggressive mothers, etc., and it would have been a wonderful, wonderful interview, and she could have set a lot of things straight. If they had told me that, I wouldn’t feel quite as disappointed as I do today.”
Walters added she had spent a lot of time preparing for the interview, including watching "Liz & Dick," the Lifetime movie starring Lohan as Elizabeth Taylor.
Lohan’s new publicist called Walters on Friday to say the actress didn’t "feel up to" the interview. Said Walters: "I could have had a more honest explanation."
