Actress Brooke Shields, known for movies including “Pretty Baby” and “The Blue Lagoon” and for TV series such as “Suddenly Susan” and “That ‘70s Show,” is returning to series work. Deadline.com reports that Shields has been cast in a recurring role on Lifetime’s drama "Army Wives."

Shields will play Air Force Col. Katherine "Kat" Young, a top C-17 pilot who is given a new assignment at Joint Base Marshall Bring, the story says. She’s described as brash and clashes with Army Gen. Michael Holden, played by Brian McNamara.

The casting comes as the show is revamped for its seventh season, which will debut March 10. The show is adding three actresses as new regulars — Ashanti, Torrey DeVitto and Elle McLemore — and original cast member Kim Delaney is leaving, the report notes.
