CBS has added two more projects to its pilot orders, including a drama from “The Mentalist” creator Bruno Heller and an adaptation of the Cameron Diaz movie “Bad Teacher,” according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The projects join CBS pilots announced yesterday for “Beverly Hills Cop” and “Backstrom,” as previously reported.
“Hot writer Hilary Winston will pen the script and executive produce ‘Bad Teacher,’ which CBS gave a script order to in October,” THR reports. “Gene Stupnitsky and Lee Eisenberg, the screenwriters behind the Columbia Pictures feature that grossed more than $216 million worldwide, are on board to executive produce, alongside Sam Hansen and Jimmy Miller.”
Sony Pictures Television and Mosaic are behind the pilot.
CBS also ordered the legal drama “The Advocates,” from Heller. “The Warner Bros. Television effort revolves around a female lawyer and male ex-con who team as ‘victim advocates’ and go to the edge of the law to right wrongs and fight for the underdog,” THR reports.
The network gave a pilot production commitment in September to the project, which will be written and executive produced by Heller.
