After a relatively controversy-free 2012 — by Charlie Sheen standards — the star of FX’s "Anger Management" was overdue. So it may not come as a big surprise that the actor sparked one last brouhaha before the year ended.
The New York Daily News reports that Sheen was caught on video dropping a homophobic slur Friday night during the opening of a nightspot in the Cabo San Lucas area in Mexico. The video later surfaced on TMZ.
Sheen can be heard on the clip saying: "How we doing? Lying bunch of f—got a——s, how we doing?"
“Up until then Sheen had been the life of the party to open the swanky new Epic rooftop bar, which he co-owns, at the posh El Ganza hotel,” the Daily News reports. “Among the other bold-face notables that turned out: L.A. mayor Antonio Villaraigosa and former Guns n’ Roses guitarist Slash, who played a set at the party.”
Sheen later offered a lukewarm apology, telling TMZ: "I meant no ill will and intended to hurt no one and I apologize if I offended anyone. I meant to say maggot but I have a lisp."
