ABC Entertainment Group President Paul Lee said he’s optimistic about the chances that Joss Whedon’s "S.H.I.E.L.D." project will get a series order, according to The Hollywood Reporter’s Live Feed.
"We’re very hopeful that’s going to go to series. … It’s a great script," Lee said at the Television Critics Association press tour. He added, "We fast-tracked that, and we’ll see it a lot earlier than the others."
ABC ordered the project straight to pilot in August, and filming is likely to begin in March. It’s based on Marvel Comics’ secret intelligence organization, which has appeared in titles such as "Iron Man" and "Captain America."
