NBC has ordered a new scripted drama series set in a summer camp, which the network describes as a mix of "Meatballs" and "Dazed and Confused,” EW.com’s Inside TV reports.

The series, called "Camp," "has rich and dysfunctional characters in that great setting where millions of families and young people go each summer: camp,” said Jennifer Salke, president, NBC Entertainment.

The show, which has an order for 13 episodes, will be filmed in Australia and is from BermanBraun. It is created and produced by Liz Heldens of ‘Friday Night Lights" and Peter Elkoff of "Gossip Girl."
