Fox’s new drama series “The Following” pulled off something no new drama has managed to do this season. TVbytheNumbers.com reports that the series became the first new drama of the season to post a ratings gain from week one to week two.

Based on Nielsen overnights, “The Following” rose one-tenth of a ratings point to a 3.3 average rating in the key 18-49 demo Monday night. That performance, combined with a season-high 2.6 average for “Bones” — up three-tenths from last week — lifted Fox to a comfortable win for the night.

Second-place ABC got by mainly on the strength of a two-hour episode of “The Bachelor,” which delivered a 2.5 average in 18-49 — the same as last week. ABC aired a “Castle” repeat at 10 p.m., settling for a 1.4 but still winning the hour.

NBC saw some slippage for its two-hour “Biggest Loser,” which managed a 2.3 average in viewers 18-49, down one-tenth from a week ago. NBC’s “Deception” at 10 p.m. held steady with a modest 1.3.

CBS aired all repeats, settling for fourth place among the broadcast networks.

For prime time overall, Fox led with a 2.9 average in the 18-49 demo, followed by ABC (2.1 average), NBC (1.9), CBS (1.7) and Univision (1.6). Fox also won total viewers with 9.6 million, followed by ABC (7.2 million), CBS (6.8 million), NBC (5.3 million) and Univision (3.9 million).
