The National Rifle Association is launching a live daily television talk show, reports Advertising Age. The show will be a TV version of the organization’s radio show "Cam & Company," which will air on the Sportsman Channel.

The move for the show, hosted by gun-rights advocate Cam Edwards, comes as U.S. Vice President Joe Biden is expected to present gun-control proposals to President Barack Obama, the story says.

The TV launch also coincides with the SHOT Show, the large firearms and shooting trade show taking place in Las Vegas this week. The Sportsman Channel is relatively small, with about 31 million homes.

"The one-hour show will explore the stories, people and places behind the headlines and issues that affect the lifestyle of hunting, shooting and fishing enthusiasts, according to a statement from the NRA," the story says.

"Each show will feature coverage of the day’s current events and breaking news plus debate and discussions with guests such as newsmakers, lawmakers, law enforcement, celebrities and athletes," the piece adds.

The NRA produces two other shows on the Sportsman Channel — "Guns and Gold" and "3 Gun Nation."

  1. I”ve heard all this about mental back ground check for buying a gun. If Chris Kyle knew his friend had PTSD why would he even take Eddie Ray Routh to a shooting range let alone let him even shoot a gun. I’ve never heard any news show talk about this.
