One of the Kardashians is getting a talk show. Twentieth Television and the Fox Television Stations announced today that “Kris,” starring Kardashian matriarch Kris Jenner, will have a test run this summer on Fox-owned stations, including those in New York and Los Angeles, Deadline.com reports.
“The program, produced by Twentieth Television, is a pop culture-driven talk show filmed in Los Angeles.” the piece reports. “It will feature celebrity guests, fashion & beauty trends; plus a mix of lifestyle topics.”
Jenner, who will executive produce along with hosting, said: “This is something I have wanted to do all my life so it’s definitely a dream come true.”
Stephen Brown, executive VP of Development & Programming for Twentieth TV, added: “Whether offering real advice to her family or sharing personal moments with viewers, Kris is honest, compelling, entertaining, and unscripted — all excellent qualities for a daytime talk show host.”
The report notes: “The six-week test run on the Fox stations has become increasingly popular as it has spawned two series to go to national syndication: ‘Wendy Williams’ and ‘Bethenny.’ The ‘Kris’ announcement follows Twentieth TV’s renewal earlier today of freshman syndie strip ‘Dish Nation.’ The company’s freshman talk show ‘Ricki Lake’ is unlikely to continue next season.”
