Season-Two Premiere of ‘Dallas’ Plays to a Smaller Audience

TNT’s two-hour premiere of the second season of "Dallas" saw its viewer numbers drop significantly from where the show left off last summer, B&C reports.

The drama drew 2.98 million viewers to its second-season return, down 31% from where it ended in the summer, the story says. It was also down 32% and 27% in the 25-54 and 18-49 age groups, respectively.

With season one playing in the summer, the show faced less competition last time around, the piece notes.

The show returned after the death of star Larry Hagman, who plays J.R. Ewing. He had taped five episodes for the second season before his death last fall.
