"Zombieland," the hit 2009 movie that had originally been conceived as a TV pilot script but had no takers, is finally heading back to TV.
" ‘Zombieland’ is being developed as an original series by Amazon.com, according to [the paid subscription-only U.K. publication] Broadcast Now," reports Lucy O’Brien at IGN.
In the past various networks have been associated with a TV "Zombieland" project, but this time it seems like Amazon has the ball in its court.
The IGN story adds, "io9.com recently obtained some casting sheets from the [proposed] show, which called for the return of the movie’s four major characters — Tallahassee, Columbus, Wichita, and Little Rock — plus two newcomers, Fred and Ainsely. The latter pair are described as ‘two office workers at the start of the zombie apocalypse, obliviously complaining about problems with their iPhones and getting the wrong order at Starbucks.’ "
