ABC and Univision have picked a name for the new channel on which they’re collaborating. TVNewser.com reports that the channel, which is geared toward Hispanics, will be called Fusion.

The network will also use the word Fusión, with an accent over the “o,” which has the same meaning and spelling as the English word, but a different pronunciation, in Spanish and English, the story says. The English pronunciation is being used internally, the piece adds.

The network is aiming for a September debut.

Some of the channel names that were considered but ultimately rejected are “Una,” “Powr,” “Vzta” and “Accent,” the report notes.

The article adds: “The English-language network will be available at launch in millions of households, including on five of the nation’s biggest distributors: Cablevision, Charter, Cox, AT&T U-verse and Google Fiber.”
