The CW has renewed two long-running shows along with its freshman drama "Arrow," reports EW.com’s Inside TV. The other two renewals are for "Supernatural" and "The Vampire Diaries."

"Supernatural" will return for a ninth season of the Winchester brothers’ adventures battling evil, while "The Vampire Diaries" will return for a fifth season.

“All three shows were expected to return and represent easy decisions for the network,” the report notes. “The choices get tougher from here, with the network probably reserving several of its more difficult calls until after it’s had a chance to see its pilots.”
