CW ‘Writing Off’ Low-Rated New Series

The CW is "writing off" a low-rated midseason series after just two airings, Deadline.com reports. The network is moving the drama “Cult” to Fridays from its current Tuesday spot, the story reports.

"Cult," which will air at 9 p.m. on Fridays starting next week, debuted with only a 0.3 rating among adults 18 to 49, and matched that number this week.

"Still, the project went further than the conventional Hollywood wisdom would suggest,” the report adds. “Sci-fi veteran Rockne S. O’Bannon wrote it for the 2005-06 development season when it landed a pilot order at the WB but the project became a casualty of the UPN/WB merger and the pilot was never produced. Six years later, O’Bannon’s updated ‘Cult’ script got another pilot order at the CW, got made and went to a series, albeit short-lived."

  1. Guess this means they hope for a cult following for Cult. (ha,ha)
I hope that they tie up all the loose ends when the show finishes.
Rockne S. O’Bannon the show is great & you are a GREAT writer. Thanks for trying. Cult is a fun show. Thanks for giving us something new & different.
