The popular PBS historical drama "Downton Abbey" is about to introduce its first black character, reports the U.K.’s The Sun.

The character will be added as part of a storyline about 1920s race relations, according to the report.

A casting note was sent out to actors’ agents, searching for an actor to play singer Jack Ross, described as between 25-30 and "black and very handsome. A real man (not a boy) with charm and charisma.”

[Spoiler alert …] The fourth season will also include a new love interest for Lady Mary Crawley, who is said to be the dashing Lord Anthony Gillingham. He’s described in the casting notes as a “good looking, very charismatic” 35- to 45-year-old, the piece notes.

Filming on the show’s fourth season begins March 23.
