An Emmy-winning actress has been cast to play opposite “Up All Night’s” Will Arnett in the new Greg Garcia comedy pilot at CBS, Deadline.com reports.
Margo Martindale, who won an Emmy in 2011 for her supporting role in the FX drama series “Justified,” joins the untitled project from Garcia, the creator of “Raising Hope” and “My Name Is Earl.”
The show, from CBS Studios, “centers on Jack (Arnett), a recently divorced guy whose life gets more complicated when his parents have marital problems of their own,” the story reports. “Martindale plays the mother, Carol, a vibrant but meddlesome and slightly controlling character who has to have her finger in every pie.”
The report notes: “Last season Martindale also was cast in a comedy pilot, ABC’s ‘Counter Culture,’ which was not completed after co-star Delta Burke sustained an injury on set.”
