Hallmark Channel is creating a new family television movies series, in partnership with sponsors such as Walmart and Proctor & Gamble, according to The Hollywood Reporter’s Live Feed.

Six new films will air on Fridays throughout the year, along with existing films from the network’s library. Walmart will then sell DVDs of the new films on the Tuesday after they’re televised.

The Walden Family Theater will launch March 15 with the film "Return to Nim’s Island," which stars Bindi Irwin, the daughter of the late Steve Irwin, the Australian host of "The Crocodile Hunter."

The second film is "Space Warriors," which stars Oscar winner Mira Sorvino, along with Dermot Mulroney and Danny Glover. The movie is about space-camp trainees who get involved when the International Space Station is endangered, the story says.

The movie series is also in partnership with Walden Media and Arc Entertainment. Addition titles in the series are yet to be announced.
