NBC Turns Over Friday Nights to News Division

NBC is getting out of the business of entertainment programming during prime time on Friday nights. The network announced programming changes that shuffle the schedules of its two newsmagazines and give NBC News total control of Friday prime time, TVNewser.com reports.

NBC moves “Rock Center with Brian Williams” to 10 p.m. ET/PT, with two hours of “Dateline” programming starting at 8 p.m. The changes go into effect tonight, the story reports.

“Dateline” correspondents Keith Morrison and Josh Mankiewicz had some fun with the move in an online promo spot taped at NBC News’ Los Angeles bureau — here it is:

    8pm – To Catch a Predator
    9pm – Test Patterns
    10pm – Dead Air
