A spinoff of the popular animated children’s show "Dora the Explorer" is coming to Nickelodeon, the network announced during its annual upfront presentation, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The spinoff will be targeted to preschoolers, and is one of more than a dozen shows on the network’s new programming slate, the story adds. "Dora and Friends" will star the animated character Dora as a 10-year-old who goes on adventures in a big city with new friends.
Other programming in the pipeline at the cable channel includes a new family comedy from the writer-producer of "Reba" and a third season of "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles." Nickelodeon also said it’s creating a new live afternoon daypart, "Nick Studio 10," the story says.
