Actress Bonnie Franklin, fondly remembered as the mom on “One Day at a Time,” has died. Franklin, 69, died today of complications from pancreatic cancer, The Huffington Post reports.

Franklin’s family announced in September that the actress had been diagnosed with the disease.

“Though she already had stage and TV credits, ‘One Day at a Time’ made her a star with its premiere in 1975,” the story reports. “She played a divorced single mother raising two teenage girls, co-stars Valerie Bertinelli and Mackenzie Phillips.”

Franklin received two Golden Globe nominations and an Emmy nomination for her work on the series, but did not win either trophy.

“The series ran on CBS for nine seasons, spending most of them as a Top 20 hit,” the report adds.

The story also notes: “Franklin’s recent credits include appearances on ‘The Young and the Restless’ and the TV Land comedy ‘Hot in Cleveland,’ which reunited her with Bertinelli, one of that show’s regulars.”
