A new prime-time documentary series is in the works for the CBS network. CBS News is helping to program some of the network’s summer prime-time schedule with the new show, "Brooklyn DA," reports TVNewser.com.

The six-part series will debut Tuesday, May 21, at 10 p.m. and will track the staff at the Kings County District Attorney’s Office, which is in Brooklyn. The show is produced by the team behind "48 Hours," the story says.

“No matter where you go, everyone has heard about Brooklyn,” said senior executive producer Susan Zirinsky in a statement. “What makes this series so unique is getting into the lives and personalities of the individual DAs, led by Charles ‘Joe’ Hynes, who reflect the vibrancy and diversity of Brooklyn. We are allowed to watch their successes and their failures — it’s immediate, compelling and often heartbreaking.”
