Actress Christina Ricci has exited a new NBC comedy following a table read, reports Deadline.com. Ricci, known for her role on "Pan Am," was the first major cast member to join the pilot, “Girlfriend in a Coma.”
The project was expected to move from Los Angeles to New York, where Ricci lives, but now will likely stay in Los Angeles if it goes to series. NBC executives reportedly think highly of the project.
"Recastings are an unfortunate but unavoidable part of pilot season when 100 pilots are being cast in the span of a month and a half," the story notes.
Other pilots that have had recastings include Fox’s "The List" and ABC’s "Mixology” and “Pulling,” along with NBC’s untitled Robert Padnick project, the piece adds.
