CNN’s Zucker Sets Sights on NBC Anchor for Morning Slot

CNN chief Jeff Zucker reportedly has an NBC anchor in his sights for a spot alongside Chris Cuomo on CNN’s new morning program, according to the New York Post’s Page Six. That NBC anchor is Tamron Hall.

Zucker is considering his options because, reportedly, Erin Burnett isn’t giving up her CNN prime-time show and won’t move to the morning without a sizable salary increase that CNN doesn’t want to pay.

As previously reported, Zucker brought Cuomo aboard from ABC News earlier this year.

Hall anchors MSNBC’s "NewsNation" and also fills in as a substitute host on "Today" and "Weekend Today," according to her biography at NBC News.

Zucker is reportedly also considering CNN afternoon anchors Suzanne Malveaux and Brooke Baldwin for the morning role.
