A popular CBS comedy series is under fire for a joke that aired during an episode of the show, with one group demanding an apology from the network. TMZ.com reports that the Navajo Nation was enraged by the joke on the sitcom “Mike & Molly.”

In the episode, Mike’s mother, described in the report as “an Archie Bunker type,” says: “You ever been to Arizona? It’s just a furnace full of drunk Indians.” Some critics apparently feel the joke is racist.

“The joke isn’t sitting well in the Native American community,” the story reports. “A rep for the Navajo Nation tells TMZ, ‘For a show like this displaying us in a negative light is just unacceptable; they are taking a shot at the entire state of Arizona and its indigenous people.’"

The contact added: "An apology would be the right thing to do, but some damage done can’t be fixed in an apology."

CBS had not returned calls at the time of the report.

  1. Its very hard to portray a racist character if theyre not allowed to say anything racist

  2. But in the utopian/socialistic view… there shouldn’t be a racist anything… because that’s not free speech. Notice the ones who are offended do not stand for free speech or free enterprise? But they want it (free speech) in their own favor, just not others’.
This is exactly what happens when you separate minorities and create your own minority TV networks (BET, LOGO, Lifetime, Univision, Al Jezera), sites and whatnot. You get people who will not be the melting pot, working together for a better America. You simply get victims, who are pissed off, with nothing better to do than bitch about their rights! Everyone wants to live in their own bubbles. And that’s what we are teaching everyone. And that isn’t Dr Obama’s dream of “Post-racial America” from 8 years ago.
Not saying in hate… just pointing out real life fact. We as media people helped to create a monster.
