National Geographic Channel has given the green light to "In the Name of Science," a pilot from Nerdist Industries, reports Deadline.com.

The show is hosted by Jonah Ray and will feature the re-creation of famous historical science experiments, the piece notes.

The show is a "a fresh look at everyday science and how it affects our contemporary lives," Nat Geo Channel President Howard T. Owens said.
